On-line Meditation Classes

A few days ago I posted about combining distance reiki with group meditation. I’m so pleased with the process and benefits, I’ve decided to make these classes a regular offering, especially during the COVID-19 crisis when we have few to no opportunities to practice with in-person groups.

These classes are by donation! Your generosity will allow David to continue this work. He has monthly bills for zoom, calendly, web hosting and more to pay! However he believes that meditation is important for everyone to practice, regardless of their ability to pay.

Energizing On-line Group Meditation with Reiki

In-person group meditation practice often feels deeper and more profound than practicing alone. This is due to the calm, peaceful, healing energy that is channeled by people during meditation. This energy flows particularly powerfully with experienced practitioners, so many notice that it feels quite different meditating with a group of monks as compared to practicing with a small group of “householders.”

Reiki is the same energy that many people feel in an in-person group meditation session. Just as meditating in a group is more powerful, receiving distance reiki helps us to relax, release and sink more profoundly into meditative awareness. Come give it a try for free!

Class process and format

  1. Sign up at least 8 hours in advance on the new Meditation Class Calendar.
  2. If you have opted in for the reiki treatment, and you have not received distance reiki from David before, please upload a recent photograph of yourself to this shared Google drive folder, to facilitate that process (it will be sent before the start of the class).
  3. Before the class starts, David will send each student (that wishes it) a distance reiki treatment, intending it to arrive during the meditation session.
  4. David sends all students information for joining the on-line video zoom meeting.
  5. If you have never used zoom, please install and test it ahead of time.
  6. Class Outline:
    1. Before class, please create a quiet space in your home for the session. Be sure no one will disturb you during the class. Be sure you have a chair, meditation bench or cushion on which you can sit comfortably for at least 20 minutes.
    2. Click on the zoom meeting link provided. Un-mute your mic and start your video.
    3. Class will start with a check-in and instruction for beginners, if there are any in the class. [10-15 minutes]
    4. Moving meditation practice (such as walking in place). [5-10 minutes]
    5. Silent reiki enhanced meditation session. [20 minutes]
    6. David will talk about benefits of practice and how to integrate regular practice into your daily life. The exact subjects covered will depend on the students needs, so questions are always welcome. [20 minutes]

These are challenging times. A regular meditation practice is invaluable for releasing stress, strengthening your immune system and sending positive energy to a world in desperate need. Once you have gotten started, please take advantage of David’s YouTube channel and/or his book “Faith to Practice: Foundations of Happiness“, to gain the inspiration needed to continue to practice at least once a day!
